Doctor's Natural recommended New Year's resolutions to keep you healthy for life!

Added 27.12.2010

1. Detox the excesses of Christmas and New Year

During Christmas we tend to overdo it - copious amounts of food and alcohol, and little or no exercise at all. And let's face it, it's not something we are willing to sacrifice. But after we have enjoyed the overindulging there's that nagging voice that tells us it would be wise to get back on track now! How to do that? The first step is to flush away all the nasty free radicals created by detoxing.

What is detox?
Detox is cleansing the body of toxic substances. This is done primarily by our liver, kidneys, blood and intestines. There are various ways in which we can detox including dialysis, chelation therapy and taking specific nutritional supplements.

Why do we need to detox?
Believe it or not, we are surrounded by toxins of all kinds and during the past 40 years more than 45,000 new chemical substances have been introduced into our environment. The air, water and soil that we grow our food on are all polluted with toxins. But it is not limited to that; the rich food and alcohol we consume during Christmas also creates toxic molecules called free radicals. Just one free radical can kick off thousands of chain reactions that could potentially destroy cells and interrupt important processes in our body.

Researchers agree that free radicals and other toxic substances are responsible for premature aging and degenerative diseases such as heart disease and cancer and basically any condition that results in decreased well-being and health.

After the Christmas season you may have noticed some of the effects of increased free radicals and toxins: low energy; bloating; excess weight; skin problems; insomnia; migraine headaches; respiratory problems and bad breath. Realistically we cannot avoid exposure to all toxins, BUT we can drastically reduce their impact by supplying our body with antioxidants, which are great at neutralising them.

What can you do to detox?
Our natural body detox systems rely on an ample supply of nutrients to flush out toxic substances. But because of increasing environmental pollution and food manufacturing processes, we just don't get enough nutrients from diet alone - even a healthy one. We need to turn to nutritional supplements which will provide us not only with a sufficient supply of nutrients, but also in their right combination for the best effect. The advantage of supplements is that they provide long-term effects and protection.

Here is what you need for detox:

Chlorella
These microscopic fresh water algae contain huge amounts of those great free radical fighting antioxidants. So huge a number in fact, they are considered a superfood.

Anti-Aging
With wonderful antioxidant nutrients like alpha-lipoic acid and N-acetylcysteine, Anti-Aging is another supplement you want to take for detox.

2. Lose those extra Christmas pounds

After Christmas most of us find ourselves trying to squeeze into those pants we just wore a couple of weeks ago with ease. Considering that most of us gain an average of 6.5 pounds in the period between Christmas Eve and New Year's Day, it's no surprise!

If you are thinking about going on a crash diet or the latest fad diet though, think again. Apart from being potentially unhealthy, there's a good chance it probably won't work for you. Why? Because of a simple fact: we are all unique. Yes, we are all different on the outside, but even down to our biochemistry, we are all unique. That is why a particular diet can work for one person, have no effect on another and even be detrimental to a third person!

Many researchers now agree that each one of us functions best on different ratios of carbohydrates, proteins and fats and the way to find that out is to determine our metabolic type. When we eat according to our metabolic type, we won't just lose and maintain our weight, we will also improve our well-being, energy, mood and lower our risk of many diseases.

Dr. Bo Nielsen has developed a weight loss programme called the Marbella Diet, which is made up of six easy-to-follow steps including determining your metabolic type and supporting this with a natural and safe weight loss supplement. To download the Marbella Diet click here

Support your weight loss programme with Metabolism+
In order to lose weight effectively, nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and amino acids etc. are extremely important. Sub-optimal levels of these nutrients will slow down chemical processes or even halt them altogether. In other words, if we are lacking sufficient levels of any nutrient we are going to have a hard time losing weight, if at all.
Doctor's Natural Metabolism+ is a uniquely formulated supplement which you cannot find anywhere else on the market containing a proprietary blend of 100% natural substances. It can help you:

3. Manage your stress

It's hard enough trying to deal with stress throughout the year, but even more so during Christmas, when our stress hormones are at their peak. By now you are probably feeling the drop in energy and fatigue that follows such peaks. As you know, stress is not good; it impairs your immune system, makes you get sick more often and leaves you feeling irritable and moody. So, what are you waiting for to take charge and manage your stress?

Dietary supplements may help relieve stress
Many researchers and scientific studies have established that a lack of basic nutrients, including vitamins and minerals, can lower your stress tolerance. These nutrients can help your body lower excess levels of stress hormones and neutralise free radicals and pro-inflammatory substances, which are also related to increased stress.

When combined with vitamins and minerals, Doctor's Natural Anti-Stress contains all the nutrients you need to help battle stress. It can help you:

4. Give your energy levels a boost

Feeling drained of energy? We have just the thing to boost your energy levels! During Christmas, our levels of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients may become depleted leading to among other things, lower energy. One nutrient in particular plays a vital role in our energy production and that would be coenzyme Q10. Our body naturally produces coenzyme Q10 throughout our lives, but as we age, less and less quantities are produced and we consequently have less energy. A great way to get out of the Christmas energy slump and to boost energy levels all year round is to take a coenzyme Q10 supplement every day.

What can Doctor's Natural Q10 do for you?
Doctor's Natural Q10 comes in two doses: 30 mg and 100 mg.
Generally, Q10 30 mg is often taken by people 40 years and younger who wish to boost energy levels, lower fatigue and strengthen the body's capacity to fight disease.

Q10 100 mg is indicated for those of you who are 40 years and over and need a more pronounced effect, especially if you have underlying heart disease. Professional athletes can also benefit from this dose.
